Quinta da Foz Grande Reserva

Grape Varieties
Field blend of very old vineyards, more than 100 years / 30 grapes varieties

Vinification
The grapes are selected from the oldest parcels of our vineyards and the fruit is harvested at perfect phenolic ripeness of each parcel. The fermentation is made in the historic granitic lagares with the traditional feet treading process, with controlled temperature. Maceration for 15 days with skin contact.

Ageing - 24 months in new French oak barrels.

Vineyards - Old terraced schist vineyard plantations

Tasting notes - Intense, deep violet colour.
The nose displays great complexity. Jammy red and black fruits are supported by subtle damson, floral notes. Ageing from French barriques lends spice and smoky aromas to the bouquet. The palate is intense, ripe fruits with elegant tannins that persist, with acidity to balance, offering freshness, elegance and a well-rounded mouthfeel to the wine. A wine with excellent potential for ageing.

Serving temperature - 16ºC – 18ºC
